Sekro

Sekro

Type: Interior Design
Status: Concept
Location: Isfahan, Iran
Date: 2023

The concept of this design is inspired by a commonly used Iranian knot. These knots have often been employed in brickwork decorations, many of which are now fading and being forgotten. The loss of these brickworks will take away many values, one of which is the history of architecture embedded in ancient textures. The concept of this design is based on the revival of forgotten arts, with a reference to the deterioration of tilework in historical buildings. In this context, a commonly used Iranian bead called Sekro was chosen and represented in a broken form. Considering the function and principles of the chair, along with the use of a continuous rod inspired by the tilework bands, this broken bead was transformed into a suitable chair for counter tables.

In fact, this chair is based on Iranian geometry and the revival of its concepts, offering an appropriate alternative to designs rooted in Western art. Based on the dimensions and proportions of the Sekro bead, the chair has been designed to a specific size, making it ideal for counter tables, bar tables, coffee shop tables, etc.

Key Features:

Transformation of two-dimensional art into three-dimensional art.
Reviving past architectural decorations and using traditional Iranian art in a modern form.
Attention to human dimensions of the chair, adjusting height and proportions based on human body standards. Suitable for counter tables, bar tables, and more.
Adherence to correct proportions, connections, and use of soft, lightweight materials.
Considering a 5-degree angle between the seat base and the horizontal line, as well as a 100-degree angle between the seat base and backrest for optimal comfort.
Use of cost-effective, accessible, recyclable, and affordable materials.
